VETERINARY SCIENCE

Veterinary Science

The Veterinary Science program provides students with a strong foundation in animal care, husbandry, disease prevention, safety, and clinical veterinary medicine, helping prepare students for future employment and continued education in animal-related fields.

Students gain valuable hands-on experience working with domestic animals while developing essential clinical skills, including safe animal restraint, physical examinations, nursing, and animal behavior assessment. Coursework explores the anatomy and physiology of both small and large animal species, with a strong emphasis on veterinary medical terminology and practical skills used in the veterinary profession.

Learning extends beyond the classroom through educational field trips such as an equine specialty facility, veterinary clinics, and Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. These experiences allow students to explore career opportunities, connect classroom learning to real-world veterinary practice, and gain a deeper understanding of the many pathways available in animal health.

Whether you aspire to become a veterinarian, veterinary technician, or pursue another animal-related career, Veterinary Science offers an engaging, hands-on learning experience to help you take the first step toward your future!
