With a new building project completed in 2015, PES offers an array of amenities for kindergarten through sixth grade students: low student to instructor ratios, state-of-the-art technology, Title 1 sponsored programs, and STEM programs including Project Lead The Way (PLTW).

The following Whitko Community School students are Students of the Month for January 2025. Madison Cripe – Whitko senior student of the monthNominated by John Strayer, who said: Madi has always shown me respect and has a great work ethic.
Through funding received from the Whitley County Health Department/Health First Indiana Grant, Whitko Community Schools’ corporation nurse, Stephanie Meyer, recently announced the Boomerang Backpacks program will expand to students at Whitko Jr/Sr High School and South Whitley Elementary School. Boomerang
Dr. Amy Korus was hired as Whitko’s superintendent of schools during the school board’s Monday, December 16, 2024 regular meeting. She replaces Dr. Tom Edington who has been interim superintendent since June. Korus starts her superintendency at Whitko January 1.

Mondays operate under a one hour delay from the times listed. In the event of a weather school delay on a Monday, the one hour delay will be disregarded.
Whitko Community School students will have an e-learning day Tuesday, January 21, 2025, due to the severe weather advisory and very cold temperatures.
The Monday, January 20, 2025, Whitko School Board of Trustees meeting has been cancelled and rescheduled for Monday, January 27, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the Whitko Career Academy lecture room.
