WHITKO ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

The Whitko Alumni Association was established in 2019 with the goal of preserving and celebrating Whitko history. The Association collects and shares memorabilia from Whitko Jr./Sr. High School and Whitko High School, as well as the former Larwill, Pierceton, Sidney, and South Whitley schools.

The Alumni Hallway at Whitko Career Academy features memorabilia from these former schools, providing a place to remember and celebrate the history of the communities and schools that helped shape Whitko.

Whitko memorabilia is also being carefully archived for future online displays. Items loaned to the Alumni Association will be returned to their owners after they have been photographed and digitized.

"50-Year" Class Online Display

The Whitko Alumni Association is planning a special online display to honor each graduating class on its 50th anniversary. The future display will highlight memorabilia and historical items specific to the class and year being celebrated.

Yearbooks Needed

We are now collecting yearbooks from South Whitley HS, Larwill HS, and Sidney HS to be scanned and saved online. Your yearbooks can be either LOANED or DONATED.

The Whitko Community Digital Image Project has coordinated the digitization of school yearbooks throughout the years. Our thanks to the many individuals and organizations who have loaned materials for this ongoing project to document our community from past to present.

Once you select a book, you may flip through the pages via the arrows at the bottom. Choose a one- or two-page view or select the thumbnail view. Our host, The Internet Archive, even has a “read out loud” option (just click the headset icon).

How to keyword search:

1) Within a book: while viewing a yearbook, click the magnifying glass in the upper left corner.

2) To search in all yearbooks: type a name or other word in the search bar at the top of the collection view (with thumbnails of all of the books) and click “Search this collection.”

Whitko High School
