OUR PROGRAMS

Little Cats Early Learning Pre-K Program (Ages 3–5 years)

We are accepting enrollments for all children ages 3-5.

We believe that education is most effective when children are interested, engaged, supported, and encouraged.

“When children engage in real‐life and imaginary activities, play can challenge children’s thinking.”

Children learn best through first-hand experiences – play motivates, stimulates and supports children in their development of skills, concepts, language acquisition, communication skills, and concentration. During play, children use all of their senses, must convey their thoughts and emotions, explore their environment, and connect what they already know with new knowledge, skills and attitudes.

  • Materials and time for dramatic, imaginative play
  • Manipulative and table toys and tools
  • Art materials and tools to explore
  • Sensory play materials
  • Library, STEM, and sensory stations
  • Music and movement activities
  • Cooking experiences
  • Technology exploration
  • Outdoor and gross motor play
  • Ample and rich language and print
  • Writing tools and materials

Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) is a teaching approach that is based on a child’s development by age that also takes into consideration individual learning differences and cultural backgrounds.

Programs that incorporate DAP optimize learning and development by providing periods of time when children may select activities, as well as planned, teacher-guided, interactive small-group and large-group experiences.

Our daily lessons are created to meet the needs of each child’s age and developmental status, attuned to them as unique individuals.

Play-based learning is an important way to develop active learning. Active learning means using your brain in lots of ways. When children play, they explore the world — and build on their understanding of the natural and social environments around them. Educational moments are tucked into every lesson. Our play-based curriculum will introduce your child to basic principles in social emotional wellness, math, science, reading, writing, and more!

Kitten Care Early Learning (Ages 2–3 years)

Little Cats programs reflect the research-based understanding that play is essential to children’s health and well-being, and foundational to children’s learning. Little Cats supports children in creating their own knowledge through hands-on experiences and child-initiated play. Teachers provide encouragement, nurture, protection, security, stimulation, and supervision to children.

  • To ensure the safety of all of our children during all routines and activities and to be alert and attentive at all times. We constantly make certain that the outside play area as well as the indoor space is safe and secure and that we provide a healthy environment.
  • To provide physical activities that support large and small muscle development.
  • To provide age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity and use of the five senses.
  • To support social and emotional development through positive guidance and interactions.
  • To develop caring and sharing partnerships with all parents. Communication is provided through newsletters, daily report forms, daily conversations, and parent-teacher conferences.

Our activities are designed to keep your child engaged, through play-based learning and developmentally appropriate practices.

Our programs center around the developmental needs of each child. We provide a caring and nurturing environment where each child is given the opportunity to thrive.

Each program consists of its own weekly theme, so that your child has something new to anticipate with each coming week.
