The Whitko Boomerang Backpack Program is currently serving 110 students each week by providing supplemental food to help ensure our students have something to eat over the weekends.
For many children, the meals they receive at school may be the most consistent meals they have access to. Our goal is to help bridge that gap and make sure our students don’t have to worry about going hungry when they leave school on Friday.
As our program continues to grow, we are actively looking for ways to sustain it. We are in need of community support and funding to continue purchasing food for our students.
Did you know that just $5 can help provide a weekend food bag for one student?
We are inviting individuals, families, businesses, churches, and community organizations to consider sponsoring a child through the Boomerang Backpack Program.
Ways You Can Help:
$5 – Helps provide one weekend food bag
$20 – Helps support a student for approximately one month
$50 – Helps provide 10 weekend food bags
$100 – Makes a significant impact in helping feed our students
Every donation—big or small—goes directly toward purchasing food for the Whitko Boomerang Backpack Program.
We currently serve 110 students every week, and with your help, we can continue making sure these students have access to food beyond the school day.
Together, we can make a difference—one backpack at a time.
If you or your organization would like to sponsor a child, support a week of backpacks, or learn more about how you can help, please reach out to Alicia Evans, Corporation Nurse at alicia.evans@whitko.org.
