HEALTH & WELLNESS
YOUR STUDENT'S CARE IS OUR PRIORITY
A healthy school creates a safe and engaging learning environment. The staff at Whitko Community Schools strives to keep all students performing at their best!
Physical Health & Wellness
As a general rule, please assist us in keeping the learning environments at Whitko healthy by keeping sick students home from school and sending healthy students to school. If you’re student is running a fever or has not been fever free for 24 hours, please do not send them to school to avoid spreading their illness.
Upon return to school, in order to receive an “excused” absence, students must have a doctor’s note explaining the reason for their absence. All other absences are considered unexcused. Students are given a total of 10 unexcused days each school year.
Mental Health & Wellness
Mental health and wellness are an important part of our culture at Whitko Community Schools. That’s why we have made it a priority. Wellness professionals are available both on and off site for Whitko students and employees. Each employee is qualified for 4 free wellness sessions. This is possible outside of the Whitko’s insurance plan. Employees receive these free services as a part of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Similarly, our students also benefit from a Student Assistance Program (SAP).
We’ve provided some helpful resources below to help you begin your journey to health and wellness. We hope you’ll feel welcome to use these services at Whitko.
