Kira Sordelet, a senior at Whitko Junior Senior High School, is gaining valuable hands-on experience through her work-based learning placement at Hollar Dental Group in Warsaw. During her time there, Kira has taken on a variety of responsibilities, including stocking dental products, sanitizing instruments, cleaning and preparing rooms, and assisting doctors with their patients. Kira especially loves the opportunity to assist, as it allows her to gain valuable hands-on experience in a real dental setting.

This experience has played a key role in shaping Kira’s future goals. With plans to become a dentist, she says the program has helped prepare her for what lies ahead. “It has prepared me for many things I will face and taught me so much that I will keep with me throughout all my schooling,” Kira shared.

In addition to her work-based learning success, Kira has been accepted into the biomedical engineering and pre-dentistry programs at Purdue University.
