
The following Whitko Community School students are Students of the Month for December 2025.

Mason Elder – Whitko Junior Senior High School’s student of the month
Nominated by teacher Curtis Hines, who said of the seventh grader, Mason always has a great attitude in class. He is respectful toward his teachers and his classmates and he is always kind. Mason puts forth his best work on a daily basis and is always engaged with classroom topics and activities.

Colsten Deneve – Whitko Career Academy student of the month
Nominated by teacher Chris Neeley, who said of the freshman, Colsten is always current on his lab assignments and is usually looking or planning ahead for a project of his choosing, if he can squeeze it into our schedule. He asks good questions and is always willing to do whatever tasks are assigned. He is a pleasure in the classroom/lab and always has a smile on his face.

Emmett Rodriguez – South Whitley Elementary School’s student of the month
Nominated by second grade teacher Anne Clark, who said, Emmett Rodriguez has been chosen as the student of the month for December. Emmett has a positive attitude and is always willing to help others. He is a hard worker and takes on new challenges with diligence and a smile. Emmett is also a deep thinker and makes choices based on fairness and justice. He sees himself as someone who watches out for others. He gives thoughtful answers in class discussions and is not afraid to take a risk in order to learn something new. Congratulations Emmett!

Jaxson Bontreger – Pierceton Elementary School’s student of the month
Nominated by kindergarten teacher Claire Frame, who said, Jaxson spreads positivity in our classroom. He is a kind, courteous, and helpful friend. Jaxson can often be caught playing with multiple peers at recess and is always encouraging others to join him. I appreciate how inclusive he is. Whenever I need a helping hand, Jaxson is there ready to assist. He is a team player all the way around, and I love having him in my class!
