An Eicher’s Roofing crew topped the Whitko Junior Senior High School log cabin with cedar shingles Wednesday, October 8. Funds were provided by the Whitko Alumni Association for this phase of renovation. Former biology teacher Luke Hunt reportedly visited the site while the shingles were installed. The cabin was designed by the late former art teacher Walter Malicki, sponsored by Hunt and built by students. A few weeks ago volunteers completed other renovations at the cabin site, all in anticipation of the cabin’s 50th anniversary in 2026.
