Carroll named Curriculum Director

Jaime Carroll was named Curriculum Director for Whitko Community Schools at the Tuesday, July 1, 2025 special school board meeting.

Carroll, of LaOtto, comes to Whitko with 27 years of experience in education. Most recently, from 2017 to 2025, she was the Wayne Center Elementary School principal for East Noble Schools, also serving there as an instructional coach and dean of students. She also taught fourth, second, and first grades, was a gifted and talented / high ability teacher and a mild disabilities teacher at East Noble from 1991 to 2016. She was named the 2025 District 3 Principal of the year and is currently in the running for Indiana Principal of the Year.

She was an Indiana Principal Leadership Institute Mentor from 2021 to 2024; and from 2020 to 2018 she taught education classes as an adjunct professor of education at Ivy Tech Community College, Fort Wayne. 

She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Indiana / Purdue University of Fort Wayne; a master’s degree in elementary education from Walden University and a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration program from Indiana / Purdue University of Fort Wayne and a doctor’s degree in education from Oakland City University.

Dr. Amy Korus, Whitko’s superintendent, said, “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Dr. Jaime Carroll as our new Curriculum Director. Her passion for student learning, depth of experience, and commitment to continual improvement make her an incredible asset to Whitko Community Schools.”

Carroll, who attended the July 1 meeting, said, “I’m looking forward to coming here and making a change. I look forward to meeting everyone and to serving this community.”
