It was a great weekend for Whitko at the 2025 National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Championship held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina June 5-7. Archers for the 2025 NASP Championship qualified by scoring a minimum score at either the Western or Eastern tournaments held in April and May, respectively.
Whitko was represented by elementary archer Melanie Napier in the 2025 NASP/IBO 3D Championship and middle school archer Sydney Napier in the 2025 NASP Championship & 2025 NASP/IBO 3D Championship. Both girls shot their flights on Friday.
Sydney was up first, shooting her 2025 NASP Championship bullseye flight with a great score of 290 out of 300. Though not a personal best it was only one point from her state qualifying score that started this journey in January.
Next, Melanie shot her 2025 NASP/IBO 3D Championship flight with a very respectable score of 256 out of 300. This was 12 points off of her National score that earned her a spot at the championship. This was Melanie’s only flight for this year’s championship.
Lastly, Sydney shot her 2025 NASP/IBO 3D Championship flight with a season best 285 out of 300.
Final Results:
Melanie Napier – 2025 NASP/IBO 3D Championship – 48th out of 254 elementary female archers
Sydney Napier – 2025 NASP/IBO 3D Championship – 12th out of 488 middle school female archers
