ACTIVITIES, CLUBS & THE ARTS

Whitko prides itself on being able to offer opportunities for all students. The size of the school enables students to participate as valuable members in many extra curricular activities. Why not try a new activity or join a club? At Whitko you can explore activities that will stretch you academically and creatively, plus have a lot of fun! Below are just a few of the ways in which you may want to be involved.

Academic Teams

As part of the academic teams students participate in a variety of competitions throughout the year answering questions from a wide range of subjects including math, science, and literature.

Archery

Whitko Archery Club is open to students in grades 3-12 and is NASP certified. The club participates in tournaments throughout the year including the Whitko Archery Invitational which hosts teams from IN, IL, MI, and OH.

Band

Whitko Marching Pride members are active throughout the year performing in parades, at football games, and garnering success in local and state contests. The band members also showcase their talents in Pep Band and Concert Band performances.

Blue Crew

A vibrant “Blue Crew” student section livens up home athletic events while supporting student athletes.

Board Game Club

The Board Game Club meets after school and offers students and staff the opportunity to enjoy playing popular board games.

Drama Club

Drama club is a  great place for students interested in acting, set design, lighting, or other aspects of theater.

Fine Arts

Art classes are offered for students K-12, and Whitko art students have a tradition of success winning fine art competitions on a local, regional, and national level.

FFA

Celebrating 50 years of Whitko FFA, our members compete at district, state, and national levels, practice giving back through numerous community service projects, participate in leadership opportunities, and host events in our state-of-the-art Ag Barn facility.

Lego Robotics

Junior high students have the opportunity to explore STEM Lego Robotics and compete in regional competitions.

Student Council

The student council is a group of elected and volunteer students who work together under the direction of an advisor to represent the student body, plan activities, and develop leadership skills.

Sunshine Society

The Sunshine Society is a philanthropic club that holds to the ideals of serving the community, helpfulness, encouragement, and brightening the lives of others through acts of kindness.

Yearbook Club

Members work together throughout the school year to take photos at school events, interview students, and plan and layout the design to create a yearbook that highlights the school year.
