The Whitko Sunshine Society completed their fundraiser for Riley Children’s Hospital by crowning Isabelle Irwin the 2025 Sunshine Queen and Isla Rose 2025 Sunshine Princess at half-time of the boys home varsity basketball game, Friday, January 17.
There were four candidates competing for the title of Sunshine Queen this year: senior high students Adeline Garr, senior, and Isla Rose, sophomore, and junior high students, eighth graders Isabelle Irwin and Breawynn Neer.
The 2025 Sunshine Queen, Isabelle Irwin, raised $1,651.03 and the Princess, Isla Rose, raised $1,166.60. As a group the four Whitko students raised $4,217.49.
The 2024 Sunshine Queen Kate Long was on hand to crown this year’s Queen and Princess. Whitko Sunshine Society is a local chapter of the Indiana Sunshine Society, a service organization that strives to show helpfulness and kindness to others. Established in 1901, the Indiana Sunshine Society now has more than 1,000 members in high school chapters across the state, who are dedicated to serving others in their communities.
