Pierceton Elementary School’s Student Council members, Ben Streeter, Anna Collins, Sonia Bontrager, Abel Miller, Nora Miller, Conrad Bontrager, Harrison Sherman, Griffen Rose, Garrett Jackson and Kessie Collins, took part in an awesome project Tuesday night, October 22.
Along with PES teacher and student council sponsor Dana Justice and parents, the students packed 17 boxes of food for the Feed My Starving Children organization. Along with other students from area schools, the Pierceton Cubs had a two-hour shift at Warsaw High School adding to a total collection of 531 food packages headed to Burkina Faso, West Africa.
The children were shocked to learn that children in Burkina Faso begin working by the time they’re 10-years-old and, worldwide, a child dies of hunger every four seconds.
