Dear Wildcats
Whitko Community Schools will have a two-hour delay Monday, March 13, 2023, as staff members participate in ALICE Training to help prevent, respond to and recover from violent threats or incidents. There will be several law enforcement vehicles at South Whitley Elementary School during this event.
In addition to learning how to identify threatening behavior before an incident occurs, the ALICE Training system brings in evaluators to look at our security measures, and they will recommend areas of improvement. Local law enforcement and first responders are a crucial component to contain and respond to any threatening situation and we have their full cooperation and participation in the ALICE Trainings.
Other school safety training is planned throughout the school year.
We hope this message gives everyone plenty of notice regarding the two-hour delay planned for Monday, March 13, 2023.
