Dear Wildcats
Whitko Community Schools will have a two-hour delay Monday, October 31, as staff members participate in school safety training. Teachers and staff members will prepare for threats or situations, which could result in lethal conflict, with ALICE Training to help prevent, respond to and recover from violent threats or incidents.
In addition to learning how to identify threatening behavior before an incident occurs, the ALICE Training system brings in evaluators to look at our security measures, and they will recommend areas of improvement. Local law enforcement and first responders are a crucial component to contain and respond to any threatening situation and we have their full cooperation and participation in the ALICE Trainings.
Other school safety training is planned throughout the school year.
We hope this message gives our students and parents plenty of notice regarding the two-hour delay planned for Monday, October 31.
