Whitko Jr/Sr High School’s Gwen Howard is an IHSAA Track & Field State Champion.

At the 2025 IHSAA Girls Track & Field State Finals Saturday, June 7 Gwen captured the state title in shot put with a throw of 46’11”, and also earned third place in discus with a personal-record throw of 143’11”. Her performance contributed all 17 points for Whitko, lifting the team to an impressive 12th-place overall finish.

Gwen’s accomplishments extend beyond the track — she also graduated as valedictorian of the Whitko Class of 2025 and will be continuing both her academic and athletic journey at Duke University.
